There's a certain irony in the fact that in the same week you publish an article lambasting the Bush administration for its ideological approach to science you also publish "Sleep easy with your baby right beside you", which dismisses a Lancet study on essentially ideological grounds. I guess this shows that Marxists and postmodernists are right: everything is political. The issue then is which ideology you're bringing to the data, and the sooner we realise this the better - or maybe that's just my prejudice!
