It seems bizarre for universities to worry about cognition-enhancing "smart drugs" ("Pills provide brain boost for academics", June 29) when there is so much institutionally approved pharmacological impairment going on.
After all, there is hardly a staff or student social event that is complete without liberal provision of the very powerful "dumb drug" known as alcohol.
