The government has quietly discarded the spectacular "graduate premium" figure of ?400,000 plus, which featured in every higher education story for two years or more.
Doubtless this is because it has been exposed as spectacularly flawed. Will the current Minister for Higher Education apologise for the way in which his department has knowingly misled the public? And will all future publicity about the benefits of higher education display the following: "Warning: The value of a university education can go down as well as up"?
