Regarding Michael Farthing's "Too lightweight for the title" (21 June): if he doesn't have any objection to "the emergence of more small monotechnics in the higher education arena" (although I object to the term), what is he afraid of? It is also worth remembering that some of us are neither "new" nor "emerging".We have been around for a long time - a lot longer than many of his members.
