In Fred Inglis' review of the Journal of Visual Culture , (Books, April 23), he refers to Mieke Bal, the author of one of the essays in the journal, as a man. Professor Bal is in fact a woman.

Also, the Journal of Visual Culture is edited by an editorial collective whose members are: Omayra Cruz, Raiford Guins, Mark Little, Joanne Morra, Simon Ofield, Vivian Rehberg, Marquard Smith and Rob Stone.
