John Wakeford (Letters, September 3) is right to point out that plagiarism isn't confined to undergraduates. The online guidelines for essay writing produced by the School of Art History and Archaeology at Manchester University include a warning about the avoidance of plagiarism.
They also include in full, and without acknowledgement, the online punctuation guide I developed for our students at Southampton. The giveaway is a reference to the Southampton Advertiser , a freesheet not readily available in Manchester. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes , eh?
