So, there is "an unholy alliance between fundamentalists and atheists", according to Jeremy Caddick ("It's a matter of life, not sex", THES , October 10). What next, flying pigs? Thankfully, we atheists don't believe in those either. But seriously, if Caddick was genuinely concerned with fighting bigotry in his own church, he would join forces with atheists and agnostics rather than try to alienate them further.
