Your front page of July 23 was a masterpiece of Republican propaganda. It asserts that John Kerry "flip-flops", with no hint that this is a political position and is a matter for debate. In the accompanying book review, Susan Carruthers should have acknowledged the role that Republican politics has played in the book John F. Kerry: The Complete Biography by The Boston Globe Reporters who Know Him Best . Knowingly or not, she makes assumptions of Kerry's "guilt" - even the fact that his family changed names before he was born is used as evidence of his character.
The man cannot win with writing like this. All I can make of the review is that the Republican political message knows no boundaries - not even The Times Higher . Well done Republicans Abroad - quite awe-inspiring.
