Well, what a stroke of luck! An independent study funded by a major publisher of academic books and journals concludes that (and I paraphrase) buying more books and journals is a good thing ("More books, more cash", 19 August). I bet Reed-Elsevier is rather pleased with its investment - and probably relieved (imagine its reaction if the result had been the opposite).
