I understand David Wilson's resignation from Big Brother ("Resist lure of reality TV", June 25), but the assumption is that "academic insight" and "entertainment" are mutually exclusive. When lecturing I try to be informative and entertaining and hopefully this carries over into my TV and radio appearances. This year's Big Brother raises ethical questions but that's no reason to tar all reality TV with the same brush.
