As convenor of a network of socialist historians, I support the academic boycott of official contact with Israeli academics.

The ultimate aim, however, is to put pressure on the Israeli government. I would no more turn down the chance to discuss with a socialist at Haifa than I would an activist opposed to the South African apartheid government.
