Academics who criticise Nottingham for taking tobacco cash should scrutinise their pension plans. When I was offered membership of the Universities' Superannuation Scheme, more than 10 per cent of USS holdings were in British American Tobacco. Are the people taking the moral high ground also prepared to withdraw from the USS?
