Only a few months after the memorandum of understanding on pay and grading was agreed, it appears that Nottingham University's management is on course to break it by imposing unacceptable barriers to normal incremental progression within grades. I see no alternative to the proposed academic boycott, since the university appears unwilling to negotiate in good faith.
