I cast my ballot paper with a resounding "no" vote, I would like University College Union members to be mindful of the positions of the Association of University Teachers and Natfhe not to ballot on any offer without a substantial "catch-up" element for the 35 to 40 per cent decline in comparative salaries. Whatever the result of the ballot, as I have written elsewhere, it is clear that the struggle for a decent wage and an equitable higher education system will continue.
