The article "Singapore scholars criticise US focus" ( THES , May 3) attributed a statement that "with nearly 2,000 faculty members, staff turnover was high" to our head of corporate communications, Leila Thayalan. This contrasts with Thayalan's response in an April 4 email to your correspondent, which read: "An annual turnover of about 100 staff for a large university like NUS is not unusual."
