Your article "5% pay offer is asking for a fight" (May 13) again neglects to inform your readers that there are seven campus unions in the Joint Negotiating Committee for Higher Education Staff and that the Educational Institute for Scotland is one of them. The EIS brings the voice of Scottish academic staff to the negotiating table, a voice often neglected by your paper.

The EIS ask employers to improve their 5 per cent offer. Not to do so would put the stability of the sector at risk.
