While I do not support an academic boycott of Israeli universities (Letters, THES , June 7), it has been impossible to conduct my own long-standing academic links with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip for months.
Normal lines of communication no longer exist, emails are not responded to and contact has been effectively lost. I wonder if those Palestinian academics feel betrayed by my silence.
