On the issue of the Bush administration's deplorable politically motivated attitude towards stem-cell research, Elizabeth Blackburn, member of the President's Council on Bioethics until her recent dismissal, is quoted as saying: "It's Lysenko all over again" ("The right's hijack of US science", March 12). I hope Ms Blackburn has a change of clothing packed ready for when she is shipped off to Guantanamo Bay (or worse).
