"Somewhat demoralised". The raw words I used in the feature cannot reflect my tone of voice and my feelings about being red-circled. In reality I am a great deal more than just somewhat demoralised.
But one important problem with the system for implementing the pay framework at Leeds University was not mentioned in the article - the secrecy.
The National Health Service went through a similar regrading process recently, and I know that all the grading information was made available to the subjects. They could see where and why they had been downgraded and, where it was wrong, correct it.
At Leeds we are not allowed to know why and how we have been downgraded. Is this fair and reasonable?
