The House of Commons science and technology select committee has launched an inquiry into how British science is contributing to the country's defence against chemical or biological terrorist attack. The committee wants to know what research is being undertaken, how it is coordinated, and how it is being harnessed to protect the population. In particular, it will consider the need for a code of conduct for scientists working with dangerous substances or pathogens.
