The business case to build a fourth-generation light source facility at Daresbury Laboratory has been given the green light by the government. The ?120 million project would create a new light source by 2008 and would be fully operational by 2010. It would safeguard the future of the Cheshire Daresbury Laboratory. The project must now produce a procurement strategy. It is expected to be funded by the science budget allocations due to be revealed later this month.
