The disappearance of Max, Glasgow University's bearded dragon, remains a mystery two weeks on. The iguana-like reptile was stolen from outside the zoology museum during a lunch hour, but neither a public appeal nor a police investigation has unearthed clues as to his whereabouts. Max, who is about 75cm long, lived in a tank with a flip-top lid that was kept unlocked for reasons of fire safety. He has been at Glasgow since 1994, shortly after his birth. 'He's much loved - he's the zoology department mascot, but he's not worth much,' said Camilla Nichol, the museum's assistant curator. 'At first, we thought it was a prank: somebody would open their sock drawer and he'd be there,' she said.
