May I correct one or two details in your account of my impending leave in Cambridge (Diary, THES, May 19).
I will not be taking a sabbatical, enjoyable as that might be, but adding some unused leave to this year's summer vacation. I will be back in harness on September 1.
My research will be in economics, studying the relationship between investment in higher education and the rate of development of advanced economies. I am certainly no historian, much as I appreciate your diarist's wish to designate me as one.
