US medics go to Cuba for free training
Cuba yesterday welcomed the first group of US students to receive free medical training in the communist state. The six&nbsp;women and two men will join more than 4,000&nbsp;students from Latin America and Africa training to be doctors. They were selected by an African-American group, the Black Caucus.

Germany backs Albanian campus in Macedonia
Germany is donating DM1 million (500,000 euros) to support the founding of a private Albanian-language university in Tetovo, Macedonia. The German foreign ministry said courses would be held mostly in Albanian, but also in Macedonian and English. The project will allow Albanian-speaking Macedonians to gain tertiary level qualifications in their native language.
