A marine science agency should be created to bring all public sector funders of marine research together with universities, MPs on the Commons Science and Technology Select Committee said in a report this week. "We have been greatly impressed by the research efforts of ... scientists but we have found these to be inadequately supported in terms of co-ordination and overall levels of funding," they said.
