Alasdair Morrison, Scotland's deputy minister for enterprise and lifelong learning, came under fire this week in the parliament's enterprise and lifelong learning committee over "inadequate" information on the costs of collecting Scotland's proposed graduate endowment.
Opposition MSPs have attacked the Scottish Executive's proposals to add the endowment to student loan repayments once graduates earn ?10,000. They want a higher threshold.
They were unhappy that Mr Morrison's information on the costs of collection came only from the Student Loans Company rather than a range of collection agencies.
