Kent students worried about safety are to step up protests over the university's decision to reduce the number of porters on campus.
Boycotts and a possible rent strike are planned in protest at the decision to cut 25 full and part-time porters down to eight full-time security staff supplemented by eight full-time and eight part-time weekend building receptionists.
A university spokeswoman said the changes are designed to enhance, not diminish, security.
