With reference to Ian Stewart's article on the National Lottery (THES, April 12) I followed his advice to choose "something really stupid like 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48" on Saturday afternoon, as I am one of those "born every minute".
I won Pounds 10, and therefore suggest that Professor Stewart does a weekly column, predicting the week's numbers. He has clearly shown that there is nothing "as practical as a sound theory", or should I say "lucky theory".
Can I suggest "Mystic Meg" is replaced by "Mystic Ian"? If I follow his advice for another couple of weeks I might be able to afford a subscription to The THES (and get my free book!).
