E-commerce could be the salvation of many United Kingdom businesses, according to Jonathan Westlake, senior lecturer in computing at Staffordshire University.
He said: "With a modest investment, any company can have the opportunity to reach markets that would be been too expensive using traditional distribution channels."
Mr Westlake has set up an e-commerce module as a part of a new degree in internet commerce at the university and has just launched e-commerce workshops for local businesses.
