* Satisfied customers are Scottish higher education's most powerful marketing tool in attracting overseas students, according to research findings.

A Scottish Council for Research in Education report, commissioned by the Scottish Office Education and Industry Department and Scottish Education and Training, is based on information from more than 160 overseas students. It found that the key reason for choosing Scotland was personal recommendations from other students or staff.
