A partnership between doctors at Queen's University, Belfast, and a local medical equipment company has led to a breakthrough that will safeguard patients under anaesthetic.
A team from the department of anaesthetics and intensive care medicine at Queen's, collaborating with Armstrong Medical Ltd of Coleraine, has developed a new material, Amsorb TM. It replaces soda lime, which can lead to a build up of toxic gases in patients under anaesthesia.
