* The government's review of the future of training and enterprise councils has been delayed until the new year because of an overwhelming response to its consultation exercise.

A spokesman for the Department of Education and Employment said that the strategic review report had been scheduled for the end of the year but it had taken more time than expected to process more than 700 "full and well-constructed" responses.
