Your correspondent claims (March 5) that the Association of University Teachers picket lines do not need traditional labour movement braziers. Indeed, but give it time.
An extended period of new Labour and the welcome emergence of the AUT as a recognisable trade union should see university lecturers up there in the "enemy within" category before too long.
