While I applaud the principle of transparency, things can go too far. Reporting David Willetts' expected words as a direct quote ("Tories: students need greater transparency", November 2) has dragged us across such a boundary.
Mind you, if politicians can be made to say exactly what they are expected to, presumably we might make them do exactly what we expect them to. Now that is promising!
