Elsevier Science is to enlarge its electronic archive of science and medical journals, which currently extends back to 1995. It will provide its full-text online customers with a permanent electronic archive back to the first issues in most cases. Work has started with core organic and inorganic chemistry journals. The archives for Tetrahedron, Tetrahedron Letters, Phytochemistry, Journal of Organometallic Chemistry and Polyhedrons will be online early next year. The archive for the remaining chemistry and chemical engineering titles in the Elsevier portfolio is due to go online by December 2001.
