The strike by staff at the British Library is over. The library also announced this week that, in response to its recent consultation exercise, it will spend an extra Pounds 3 million a year on acquisitions. There will be Pounds 1 million more for conservation in 1999-2000 and Pounds 6 million a year thereafter.
