The main library and archives of Portugal's Coimbra University were closed after library staff complained of headaches, difficulty breathing and fatigue at work. Toxic substances used during a disinfecting operation carried out last year are seen as the most likely culprit. Staff complained of similar problems immediately after the cleaning and believe recent repairs to the library may have made the problem reappear.
