College found to be 'in poor health'

East Devon College has joined the growing list of colleges deemed by inspectors to have "unsatisfactory" management, governance and quality assurance. Inspectors from the Further Education Funding Council found that the college has no quality assurance policy, ineffective management and a governing body that does not fulfil its responsibilities under the instruments and articles of college governance. It joins a list of at least nine other colleges deemed to be failing. The college is in poor financial health, and its financial management is weak, the inspectors said.
