A third of calls to the government's Learning Direct helpline were about FE opportunities. Figures for the first 11 months show that of the 406,069 calls, over 135,000 were about college courses. One in six were about HE. Nearly half (46 per cent) were from the employed, 3 per cent from the self-employed and 18 per cent from unemployed people.
