Going to market has gone online for Ayrshire farmers, with the help of Kilmarnock College. The college is offering local farmers computer training and a website. The project, jointly funded by the college and the European Social Fund, allows farmers to put details of their businesses and the Ayrshire Farmers Market online.

The market's chairman, John Scott, said: "We hope that the website will enable our customers to keep in contact with their chosen stallholders throughout the month rather than just at the time of each market. The next step is to see if we can expand our customer base by direct selling online."
