Faculty at Turkey's Dokuz Eylul University have finally had their choice of rector confirmed with the backing of the country's president, Ahmet Necdet Sezer. The higher education authority agreed to nominate Emin Alc as a candidate, and his appointment as rector was confirmed by the president.
