TFPL, a knowledge consultancy company, has launched an international research project into the skills and competencies required in knowledge environments.

The research, based on a survey of knowledge management practitioners and their employers, will update TFPL's 1999 report Skills for Knowledge Management: Building a Knowledge Economy, which identified emerging knowledge management roles and the combination of skills, experience and competencies required by knowledge workers. The project will include an update of TFPL's "skills map", which lays out knowledge management skills and competencies.
