British pretender collects cash in Paraguay
The&nbsp;chairman of an allegedly British institution, The England and Wales University, has obtained an undisclosed sum from private universities in Paraguay as part of a deal involving the exchange of honorary degrees and the promotion of distance learning, say Paraguayan authorities. They were alerted to&nbsp;Sir José Gesto’s activities by the British Council, which&nbsp;said that it knew of no such university in Britain.&nbsp;Sir José, who insisted on payment in pounds sterling, is believed to have struck similar deals with universities in Bolivia and Panama. &nbsp;

Toronto stays atop&nbsp;Canadian rankings
颁补苍补诲补’蝉 Maclean's Magazine&nbsp; has named the University of Toronto the country's top university for the seventh year running. The rankings gave Simon Fraser the highest score among comprehensive universities, and Mount Allison again secured first place&nbsp;for primarily undergraduate universities.
