Italian men shirk from shrinks
A study by Rome’s La Sapienza University has revealed that 75 per cent of Italian males between&nbsp;25 and 55 who sought psychiatric treatment were accompanied by their mothers or wives, while more than half of females went alone. “Women appear to be more courageous than men in the face of psychiatric disturbances,” researchers said.

Catholic University plans placenta bank
The Catholic University of Rome is setting up a “placenta bank” on January 1 as an alternative to cloning human embryos. The bank will store stem cells that can generate most of the 200 cell types in the human body. Researchers hope it will allow them to regenerate human organs and tissue without the need for cloning.
