Three share Nobel award for chemistry
Two Americans and a Japanese scientist have won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for molecular research used in making medicines. William S. Knowles and Ryoji Noyori of Nagoya University in Japan shared half the $943,000 award.&nbsp;The other half went&nbsp;to&nbsp;K. Barry Sharpless of the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California.

Islamic students march on Indonesia's parliament
Hundreds of Islamic fundamentalist students tried&nbsp;to storm Indonesia's parliament building in Jakarta, chanting their support for Osama bin Laden and jihad&nbsp;against the West. Riot police forced them back&nbsp;with water cannons and teargas.

Palestinians protest against police
Palestinian students in the West Bank protested against the use of force by their police in Gaza, after&nbsp;two students were killed in demonstrations in support of Osama bin Laden. Sit-ins were staged at the universities of Nablus and Bethlehem, and 1,500 students from al-Najah University demonstrated against US air strikes and international sanctions on Iraq.
