A student leader at South Africa¡¯s Eastern Cape Technikon has been shot dead in an incident believed by police to be linked to student representative council elections.   

Thailand arrests student en route to Taliban
A Malaysian university student has been arrested by Thai immigration officials attempting to ride a motorcycle to Afghanistan via Thailand. Muhammad Shukri Sattar, a second-year student at the Multimedia University in Bangi, told Malaysian police he intented to join the Taliban.
