Students of the National University of Togo demonstrated in support of striking primary and secondary school teachers. Many of the students were children of the striking teachers, who are finding it difficult to pay tuition fees and rents. Some carried placards reading "pay our parents' salaries" and "our future lies in the salaries of our parents".
