Natfhe members have passed a motion aimed at ensuring lecturers and not employers "own" the new Institute for Learning and Teaching.
The higher education sector conference called upon the Universities and Colleges Employers Association to press for sufficient additional funding to allow lecturing staff the time and the resources to seek accreditation through the ILT.
Members fear that such safeguards are necessary to prevent the ILT becoming "another stick" with which the management can beat staff.
