Leicester University students who are victims of crime are being given free extra protection by the local constabulary.

Police are working with Leicester's students' union and welfare office to pinpoint student housing most at risk from burglary.

Student property that has been broken into or is considered to be particularly vulnerable to crime will benefit from being "target hardened" with free locks, secure windows, and alarms.

Leicestershire Constabulary has been given Pounds 30,000 by the 网曝门 Office to help cover the cost of "hardening" about 300 properties.
