* Students from the London Borough of Southwark predicted to get less than three Bs in their A levels and with no graduate parent will be paid Pounds 3 an hour to attend a weekly Saturday school at the London School of Economics. The scheme, which is supported by the Sutton Trust, founded by philanthropist Peter Lampl, aims to encourage people from non-traditional backgrounds into university. According to its annual report, the trust spent Pounds 203,773 last year on university summer schools.
